Adelaide airport was the usual problem - OK getting off the
plane, but endless queues to get through immigration and customs.
Goodness knows what they'd do if it ever got busy!
Went to get the hire car, and once again would we take a Tarago?
(see previous years!). Went back into the airport and a juice and
sandwich. Our room at the Jackson was ready, but while we getting
sorted Kerine rang. We'd phoned from the airport and she thought we
should already be with her and lunch was ready. Went to see her, and
had a sandwich lunch.
Went to Burnside Village, and Anne had her
green apple sorbet. Sadly for Les the yoghurt bar had gone! Bought
some bits and pieces including new SIM card and then returned to
Jackson and had a couple of hours sleep. Back to Kerine’s around 5pm
– chatted for a while and then had pasta. Chatted
for a bit longer and then returned to for an early night (8.30pm).
Not good –people in pool at 3am.
The next few days followed the same pattern.
Visit Kerine after breakfast and go somewhere local. Kerine would
rest in the afternoon, and then we'd go back in the evening. We
needed the rest as well - some disturbed noisy nights didn't help us
get over the jetlag.
Highlights - meeting Sheila & Bryon's friends
Patsy & Steve, with son Thomas, and taking Kerine to her favourite
Cork & Cleaver for a birthday meal.
