Dick & Pam bought this as a (very damp) shell, and it’s taken a couple of years to get everything done, but now it’s lovely. |

The damp was caused by the fact that the house is built into the hillside. They've had the ground excavated and a built a concrete retaining wall across the back. It extends to the side of the house because they may extend later on - they've had foundations put in as part of the current works. The ground floor is a completely self-contained unit, but linked by an internal stair to the kitchen. |

| The road used to be a railway line, and a few yards from the house is the old viaduct over the Aven. Useful as the weight limit stops any heavy vehicles using the road | |

| They've made it really comfortable. I'm not sure whether this was the furniture that they transported in our Espace a few years ago. | |
