A record of our 2011 trip to the USA.

We flew  to San Francisco and after a few days there we took an internal flight to Denver. A few more days in Denver and we started our long drive. An anticlockwise loop of about 3,500 miles up to Yellowstone and back. We finished with another internal flight to Boston, where we had five nights before flying back to Heathrow.

In each section you'll find some (mainly unedited) bits from the diary that we write up as we go, together with a selection of our photos, and the odd video taken on Anne's Canon Ixus.

Here's a major highlight - Anne's video of a black bear in Yellowstone

We now know that we were quite lucky to come across the bear at the side of the road. Anne grabbed this video of it washing itself in a pond and then moving off. The clicking noises are Les and and other people using SLR cameras.
