A fitful night. Finally woke about 8.15. Les was able to eat a little fruit and a shortbread biscuit with a cup of tea. Showered, etc. Finished packing. Caught up with emails, etc. Tried to load Bellagio video but failed - maybe an upload limit on the free internet.

Checked out of hotel at 11am and got cab straight to airport. Upgraded to Premium Economy to try to give Les a more comfortable journey home. Checked in cases and went through security. Had to stand in cubicle with arms raised - they said it wasn’t an x-ray machine but think it might’ve been as they were laughing when we came out!!. Then had to stand on footprints in front of another machine until given all clear! Put one rucksack into a locker then caught a cab back to The Strip and Caesar’s Palace. Had a walk through casino and Forum Shops. Bought Niamh a snow globe - a very small one. Watched animatronic fountain perform!

Stopped at Food Court for light lunch and shared a slice of pizza - Les just starting to feel hungry again. Caught cab back to airport and then had to go through security again and they confiscated the snow globe - meanies. Had trouble with the fingerprint recognition system to open the locker. Just started to panic - Anne was on the help phone when after the 10th attempt it worked!

Sat and updated photos and added captions to the ones on Facebook. Missed the boarding call for Premium Economy and had to board with everyone else Had front two seats again with footrest that pulled out from under seat - didn’t work too well. Very old aircraft, antiquated entertainment system and generally shabby. Stewards not so attentive as on way out - seemed to spend most of their time in upper class just in front.

At least we got off quickly and were through in half an hour. Luggage out quickly as well - one advantage of Premium Economy. Joan there to pick us up. Stopped at Fleet for something to eat and home around 2pm. Tracey just leaving house so turned round and came back. Chatted for while whilst opening post, etc. Tracey got onto Vodafone to sort out Anne’s mobile after establishing that the sim card was working but not the handset. It eventually took another week to get it working.

We unpacked and discovered the lock on one case had been damaged and would not open! Les spoke to the Antler store at Bridgend where we bought them. In the end had to break the lock to open the case. Antler Manager promised to send new lock which actually arrived on Saturday - very good as the damage was obviously deliberate and not Antler’s responsibility.

Final straw then was when Anne went to Les’s wallet to get credit card receipt and found that not only was the receipt missing, but also the credit and debit cards on the Nationwide account. Immediately rang Nationwide. Neither card had been used and they stopped them and ordered replacements.
